FÊTARDE

GRADUATE COLLECTION

Created in Paris, Fêtarde is a personal exploration of the designers heritage and identity. The collection is made entirely from deadstock satin and leather. Rooted in British and Scottish lineage, the designs express a disconnection the designer has to her Danish, Canadian and Irish heritage, through the use of exposed skin, layered materials and reinvented prints. The collection captures the playful essence of a British 'party girl', hence the name Fêtarde which is the French translation for 'party girl'. Hounds tooth print and the Robertson clan tartan were experimented with, then printed on repurposed fabrics using screen print and sublimation print. The colour palette was derived from the designers personal wardrobe at the time. The designer was influenced by iconic designers Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen, and Grace Wales Bonner. The collection merges sustainable fashion with an artistic reinterpretation of traditional Scottish and English garment construction and motif.
