EMOTION OVER REASON

GRADUATE COLLECTION

Influenced by the paintings, sculpture, poetry and literature from the Romanticism movement, this is a modern day collection that utilises deadstock fabrics and elevates them to a couture level, demonstrating the potential for 'waste' to be given a new value and meaning.

Artworks from the likes of Turner, Blake and Fuseli are offset by the writings of important female figures of the time, Emily Bronte and Mary Shelley. Each have played a part in developing the colour palette and textures used throughout the pieces, with a focus on drape, print and alternative materials.

The collection captures the 'solid-fluidity' of sculptures by creating a visual contrast with the use of soft sheers alongside metal and eco-friendly resin. Emotion Over Reason embodies the contrasts between romantics and gothic romanticism.
